About the Technical Reviewers

Henry Benjamin, CCIE No. 4695, holds three CCIE certifications (Routing and Switching, ISP Dial, and Communications and Services). He has more than 10 years of experience with Cisco networks and recently worked for Cisco in the internal IT department helping to design and implement networks throughout Australia and Asia. Henry is senior technical consultant with a large firm based in Australia.

Venkat Kankipati has been with Cisco Systems since 1997. Currently, he is a software development manager, and his experience spans a wide range of internetworking protocols and technologies, including security, network performance, and manageability. Prior to joining Cisco, Venkat worked for Bay Networks, Inc. He holds a masters degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, a masters degree in computer applications from the University of Madras in India, and a bachelors degree in science from the University of Bombay in India.

Joshua Saul, CCIE No. 9905, CISSP, is a senior engineer for a large multinational broadcasting company. He has previously consulted for GE Capital, Pfizer, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Barnes & Noble.com, and several large financial firms. He is responsible for Cisco solutions incorporating fully redundant load-balanced application delivery and intrusion detection systems. He has a BBA in management from George Washington University and is currently pursuing an MBA/MS at Fordham University with a concentration in information and communication systems and finance. He lives with his wife, Turandot Saul, M.D., in New York City.

Dr. Peter J. Welcher, CCIE No. 1773, CCIP, Cisco Systems instructor No. 94014, has a Ph.D. in math from MIT. He started out teaching math at the U.S. Naval Academy. While there he also bought and maintained UNIX systems, wrote a book on a programming language, and wrote a major computer program in C. He changed careers in 1993 to teach a wide variety of the Cisco courses for Mentor Technologies, formerly Chesapeake Computer Consultants, while also doing network consulting whenever possible. Pete is now doing high-level network consulting with Chesapeake Netcraftsmen, with tasks including network design, security, quality of service (QoS), wireless, and IP telephony for several major enterprise customers. He has reviewed a large number of books for Cisco Press and other publishers and has authored or managed development of several courses for Cisco and others. Pete writes articles for Enterprise Networking Magazine. He can also sometimes be found presenting his own seminars at East Coast Cisco offices on topics ranging from campus network design to WLAN security.
